Karl Nelson understands how investors think, so he can help you make the most of your commercial real estate investments.
Karl’s 12-year background as an investor and involvement in a variety of deals has given him a clear understanding of the investor mindset. What’s more, he thrives on the “win-win” spirit of investing that fosters smooth transitions in both simple and complicated transactions. Whether you are a buyer, seller, tenant, or landlord, Karl can help you with your CRE investment goals.
Prior to moving to the mountains of Western North Carolina, Karl earned a master’s degree in physical therapy and practiced as a physical therapist at Carepartners/Mission Health for 16 years. That career allowed him to work part time, so Karl began investing in residential single-family and multi-family real estate in 2004. Since then, he has been involved in solo and joint ventures, and discovered a passion for creative financing.
In 2016, Karl realized he was ready to put his prior investing experience to work for clients across WNC. Joining NAI Beverly-Hanks and making commercial real estate a full-time career was a natural progression.
More about Karl Nelson
Karl grew up on the South Carolina coast, but had the opportunity to work as a physical therapist in New York City, Montana, Colorado, and Germany. Karl says, “As much as I miss the coast, my time in Boulder, Colorado gave me a love of the mountains. That’s why I’ve called Asheville home for 16 years.”
Every week, Karl volunteers at Estes Elementary, where his two children attend school. He says it’s really rewarding to assist with the chess club and work closely with the Reading Buddies program, helping Title One students to improve their reading skills. In his free time, Karl also enjoys playing guitar, camping, hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, and taking in Asheville’s amazing local craft beer scene.
